Pecha Kucha, Doberman’s Paper Dress Collection
•I am loving this photo-shoot of three dimensional paper dresses that is behind Russian Creative Agency Doberman, made for July/August issue of L’Officiel. • •The concept of paper as a material for fashion designs, is both innovative and contemporary. •I consider the aesthetics of the paper garment in this photo to be inspirational and aesthetically pleasing. I find the sharp edges of the designs to inspire my own work, and artistic perception of fashion couture. Additionally, I love the contrast of the delicately poised model to the sharp contours of her costume.

Pecha Kucha, Ryan Korban Designs
•I find the designs by up and coming interior designer, Ryan Korban to be extremely inspiring. • Korban is notorious for his small-space decorating, and “fashion based” approach to interior design. •In this photo, I find the concept of mixing antique pieces with sleek contemporary design to be very visually appealing. I appreciate this notion, as I truly believe that interior design is a direct reflection of fashion inspiration.

Pecha Kucha, Grace Coddington, 1960’s
•Grace Coddington’s sophisticated style and creative styling techniques have made her a fashion icon and legend. . A former British Model (London in the 1960’s), Coddington is most notoriously known as the creative director for Vogue, and the worlds best-known fashion stylist • •This photo was taken in 1964, and is perhaps one of my favorite photos of Grace Coddington. I chose this picture due to the exhibition of pure beauty and classic sophistication of fashion in the 1960’s. I am particularly fascinated with this photo due to the emerging trends that we see in contemporary fashion. This photo is truly “classic” as the ensemble is timeless.

Coca- Cola walked the runway during Fashion Week in Milan. Donatella Versace, Alberta Ferretti, Anna Molinari from Blumarine, Veronica Etro, Silvia Venturini Fendi, Marni’s Consuelo Castiglioni and Angela Missoni were the designers chosen to design coca-cola bottles for Milan Fashion Week. The bottle designs were part of a Fashion charity project for the Abruzzo Region, a project organized by Coca-Cola Italia in conjunction with the Municipality of Milan.
This is one of the most creative runway events I have ever seen. I love the concept of making unconventional items fashionable. I think that this is not only a great way to gain recognition from designers and coca-cola; but also a great way to contribute to charity. While browsing WWD, these images really caught my eye. How amazing are these designs!! What could be better than my favorite beverage dressed in some of my favorite designers ensembles!!!

The “recession” fad last fall brought back the basics. We began to see lots of classics re-emerge in an effort to become more “practical” as a collective society. The classic white button down was one of the most popular pieces. It was versatile, classic, and timeless. This year, we are seeing a continued trend with this wardrobe staple. The difference? There is a new spin on classic white. Embellishments, of the shoulder necklines, masculine silhouettes, and tunic length pieces are all the rage for 2009. I am loving this look of classic sophistication with a contemporary twist. Below are some of my favorite classic white pieces this fall.
